Contact Sheet Maker turns the video playing in Chrome into a clean, timestamped contact sheet for review, notes, archives, and AI workflows.

One-line pitch

Turn any visible browser video into an AI-readable contact sheet in one click.

Short product description

Contact Sheet Maker is a Chrome extension for turning browser videos into timestamped image grids. Pick a sampling interval, generate one or more sheets, and keep the whole workflow local in your browser.

Product Hunt tagline

Turn browser videos into timestamped contact sheets for AI review.

Product Hunt first comment

I built Contact Sheet Maker because sending a full video to an AI is often slow, expensive, or just awkward when all you need is a compact visual summary. This extension turns the video already playing in Chrome into a clean contact sheet with timestamps, so you can review it yourself, archive it, or hand it to an AI as a single image set.

The workflow is intentionally simple: click the extension, choose how many seconds between frames, and generate. It handles portrait videos, longer videos that need multiple sheets, and keeps everything local in the browser with no uploads or accounts.

If you try it, I would especially love feedback on where it helps most: AI prompting, research, education, content review, or internal team workflows.

I shipped Contact Sheet Maker, a Chrome extension that turns the video in your current tab into a clean, timestamped contact sheet.

Useful for:

AI prompts
video review
research notes
archiving visual summaries

No uploads. No accounts. Just pick a sampling interval and generate.

I have been using AI to reason about video, and one recurring problem kept showing up: the useful part is often not the full file, but a readable visual summary of key moments.

That is why I built Contact Sheet Maker, a Chrome extension that turns the visible video in your browser into a clean, timestamped contact sheet. You choose how often to sample frames, the extension generates one or more sheets, and the output downloads locally.

It is useful for review workflows, archives, notes, and giving AI a compact representation of a clip without building a heavier pipeline around the original video.

Reddit post draft

I made a Chrome extension that turns the video in your current tab into a timestamped contact sheet.

The idea was simple: sometimes I do not need the whole video workflow. I just need a clean grid of frames I can scan quickly or send to an AI. The extension samples the visible video, generates one or more sheets depending on length, and downloads them locally.

It is still intentionally narrow: no uploads, no accounts, and no editing features yet. I am curious whether people here would use it more for AI workflows, research, or general video review.

Subject: Contact Sheet Maker is live

I just launched Contact Sheet Maker, a Chrome extension that turns browser videos into clean, timestamped contact sheets.

It is built for a simple job: choose a sampling interval, capture the visible video, and download a readable image grid you can review, archive, or pass into an AI workflow.

It runs locally in the browser, supports portrait and longer videos, and keeps the first version deliberately lightweight.

Press / directory blurb
